Acupuncture

Dr. Kekki utilizes the Traditional Chinese Medicine application of Acupuncture, which is the stimulation of Acupuncture points to correct imbalances and regulate the balance of energy or "Chi" of the body through channels known as meridians. We follow Clean Needle Technique, using only sterile, disposable Acupuncture needles in our practice. Taking a multi-disciplinary approach, we often combine Acupuncture, Physiotherapy, and Chiropractic for the fastest results. Under the scope of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Kekki utilizes cupping therapy in which a local suction is created on the skin to help release the flow of stagnant blood and lymph enabling the body to heal.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is an effective therapy to treat muscular tension and spasm. Similar in technique to acupuncture, the theory of dry needling  is based upon Dr. Janet Travell's work pioneering the theory of trigger points and myofascial pain syndrome. Dr. Kekki was trained by Dr. Yun-Tao Ma and has completed both courses "Pain Management and Sports Medicine" and "Advanced Dry Needling Sports and Rehabilitation".

Physical Therapy

To complement and enhance the healing effects of Dr. Kekki's specific Chiropractic manipulative treatment, we also provide the following physiological therapeutic procedures: Cold Laser Therapy, Interferential/Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, Mechanical Traction, Cryotherapy, Manual Traction, Moist Heat Therapy, Massage Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, and Therapeutic Exercises.

Corrective Exercise

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises specifically designed for them to strengthen and correct their problem areas. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%.

Micronutrient, Food Sensitivity, and Genetic Testing

Dr. Kekki often finds it helpful to order various lab testing to assist in whole body care and healing.  This knowledge facilitates treatment protocols in addition to supplementation and nutritional protocols.  Spectracell and Alletess are companies that Dr. Kekki works with frequently.

Nutritional and Supplement Counseling

We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patients' return to optimal health.  Dr. Kekki recommends and carries Prothera/Klaire, Houston Enzymes, Thorne and Xymogen products in her office.

Lifestyle Advice

Our patients find it helpful to be coached on certain activities they should avoid or modify to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most.

Custom-Fit Orthotics

Spinal and pelvic stabilizers are a prescribed style of flexible foot orthotics, which are worn in shoes. Stabilizers are recommended by chiropractors and other health professionals and are specifically designed for the individual's unique postural problems. Dr. Kekki works with Footlevelers for custom fit and design. We are proud to offer our clients custom-fit orthotics by Footlevelers.

Manipulation Under Anesthesia

Manipulation of the spine under anesthesia is the art, science, and practice of the restoration of the function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The overall objective is to relieve the patient's pain and disability and normalize joint motions and musculoskeletal function without incisional surgery. This approach is indicated but not limited to the following conditions: acute strain/sprain with intractable muscle spasm, acute intractable torticollis, chronic fibrotic changes in paravertebral musculature, chronic myofascitis, chronic myositis, chronic fibrosis, non-responsive or static paravertebral muscular spasm, peridural fibrosis, failed surgical back syndrome, bulging disc, herniated disc, and anomalies with restricted motion following trauma.
