Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story. When I was a teenager, I used to get headaches. I got them all the time, sometimes four times in one week. Our family medical doctor prescribed some medication, but it did not seem to help. In fact, they were getting worse. They were so horrible, to this day I can vividly remember how bad they made me feel. They caused me to miss many days of school and social activities.
By the time I was 17, they were destroying my life. I was referred to a neurologist when I was officially diagnosed with migraines. The neurologist wanted to prescribe a very strong medication that I was to take on a daily basis. While I was relieved that the neurologist was able to confirm my headaches and classify the type, I could not help but wonder if I was going to have to live like this forever? I started to get pretty scared. But listen to this...after learning about chiropractic care through my undergraduate studies, I thought it might help me with my migraines. I was tired of taking medication and feeling so miserable. What else did I have to lose? The chiropractor performed an exam, took some x-rays and gently adjusted me. The adjustment didn't hurt, it actually felt really good. And guess what? I started getting better right away! I could barely believe it! She explained that my nervous systems controlled everything in my body. The stress that we go through in our everyday life, when they get too overwhelming, can cause damage to the nervous system causing interference in the proper functioning of this system. Chiropractors, she explained, remove that interference so that your body can heal itself. It made perfect sense to me, and I had gotten the results to prove it!
This lead me in the direction of chiropractic health care and helping other people find relief from their pain too by treating the underlying cause and not just the symptoms for a temporary fix. I look forward to helping you!
